GERMANY-TERMINUS EAST

Deutschland –Endstation Ost
East Germany/1964/84'/German
This documentation by Belgian filmmaker Frans Buyens was taken in 1964 on behalf of the East German Foreign Ministry, but was not released. It's an interesting blend of propaganda cutting and free takes of interviews with people on the streets and border soldiers who build the wall, workers, entrepreneurs and students on the situation in the GDR in 1964. It is a unique document of moods in parts of the East German population in the early sixties.
